How to Use

  • Add Karigai Poongar Idiyappam Flour in a bowl and mix with ¼ teaspoon salt.
  • Boil 1 to 1.5 cups of water and add gradually to the flour.
  • Stir continuously to form a smooth, soft dough (avoid excess water).
  • Mix with a spoon first, then knead gently by hand.
  • If the dough feels dry, sprinkle more hot water. Add 1 tsp oil for extra softness (optional).
  • Keep the dough covered to prevent drying.
  • Grease the Idiyappam press, fill it with dough, and press thin strands onto greased plates.
  • Steam for 5–7 minutes in an idli steamer.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.
